TEXAS TEENAGERS VIE FOR MISS TEXAS TEEN USA TITLE

The prestigious MISS TEXAS TEEN USA® 2011 pageant will take place on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hilton Houston Post Oak Hotel, (2001 Post Oak Blvd., Houston).  Chelsea Morgensen, the reigning MISS TEXAS TEEN USA 2010, will crown the winner, and the contestant receiving the most votes for the People’s Choice Award will be announced.

The Preliminary Show and Competition will be held the prior evening, Saturday, November 27th, at 7:00 p.m.  The Swimsuit and Photogenic award winners will be announced during the Preliminary Show.

Albert Soliz and the new Miss Texas USA 2011 will host the show.  Nationally renowned choreographer, Kent Parham, will again join our MISS TEXAS TEEN USA production team. 

Over 100 contestants from all over the state will compete in interview, swimsuit and evening gown competitions.  The winner will claim the title and a prize list which includes college scholarships, jewelry, travel, wardrobe, and the honor of representing the Lone Star State in the premiere pageant for teenagers - MISS TEEN USA®. 

Tickets will go on sale in October.

CHELSEA MORGENSEN OF LAREDO WINS MISS TEXAS TEEN USA® PAGEANT!

The 2010 MISS TEXAS TEEN USA® pageant was held on Sunday afternoon, November 29, at the Hilton Houston Post Oak Hotel.  One hundred twenty-three contestants from across Texas competed for a prize package that includes a four year college scholarship, jewelry, travel, wardrobe, and the honor of representing Texas next year in the premier national pageant for teenagers, MISS TEEN USA®.
The newly crowned Miss Texas Teen USA is fifteen year-old, Chelsea Morgensen, who represented Laredo.  A freshman at J.B. Alexander Health and Science High School, Chelsea is an honor roll student, team captain on her volleyball team, basketball team, and her tennis team.  She is a record breaking pole vaulter, a junior Girl Scout Bronze award recipient, an NCA All-Star cheerleader and has won one State and three National Cheerleading Championships.   Chelsea was also a USSSA (United States Specialty Sports Association) 3 on 3 World Championship winner (where she was the only girl on the team) and a top ten finalist for the Jr. WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association) Team out of 75,000 contestants nationwide.

First runner-up is Miss Lubbock Teen USA, Erika Hammond (who also won the award for Most Photogenic); second runner-up is Miss North Harris Teen USA, Natalie Martino, third runner-up is Miss Harris County Teen USA, Hannah Kirkland; and fourth runner-up is Miss Austin Teen USA, Rachel Prochnow. Semifinalists are Miss Bay Area Teen USA, Jessica Mitchell; Miss Bellaire Teen USA, Devon Kline; Miss Comal County Teen USA, Courtney Warren (who also won the award for Swimsuit); Miss Dallas Teen USA, Ashlea Gutierrez; Miss El Paso Teen USA, Spencer Bramblett; Miss Heart of Texas Teen USA, Victoria Jaso; Miss Houston Teen USA, Jenny Smith; Miss Humble Teen USA, Katie Gabrisch; Miss Lake Whitney Teen USA, Oshandra Ossowski; Miss Permian Basin Teen USA, Kirstin Collier; Miss South Texas Teen USA, Laura Gonzalez; and Miss Westover Hills Teen USA, Haley Spathias.

The 5th annual People’s Choice Award was won by Miss Laredo Teen USA, Chelsea Morgensen.  Voters for the People’s Choice donated one dollar for each vote cast, all to go to the Southeast Texas Labrador Retriever Rescue, a volunteer organization that supports helping to rescue, rehabilitate and adoption of abused and unwanted Labrador Retrievers throughout the Southeast Texas Region.
