In September 2013, over 100 outstanding young Texas women will travel to Houston, Texas to compete for the coveted title of Miss Texas USA® 2014 which is the official preliminary to MISS USA® and MISS UNIVERSE®. The prestigious Miss Texas USA pageant will take place at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 1, 2013, at the beautiful Hilton Houston Post Oak Hotel located in uptown Houston, Texas.
The Preliminary Show and Competition will be held the prior evening Saturday night August 31st at 7:30pm. The Swimsuit and Photogenic award winners will be announced during the Preliminary Show. Additionally, Miss Congeniality and the People’s Choice Winner will be announced during the Final Show.
The 2014 Miss Texas USA winner will make personal appearances throughout her year and will receive a prize and gift package of cash, gold and diamond jewelry, travel, wardrobe, and much more.
The next Miss Texas USA will represent the state in the nationally televised, MISS USA pageant in the Spring of 2014. MISS USA then proceeds on to the ultimate of pageants, Miss Universe®.
Tickets will go on sale in late July for the- Swimsuit preview Friday August 30th; Preliminary Competition on Saturday, August 31st; and Final Show on September 1st will be available on our website www.MissTexasUSA.com
Houston, TX, September 2, 2012 – Ali Nugent was crowned MISS TEXAS USA 2013 on Sunday, September 2nd, in a competition featuring 110 contestants from throughout Texas. Hailing from Dallas and representing North Texas in the pageant, the 19-year-old, 5’9” brunette beauty has a heart as big as Texas. In high school she was president of Best Buddies Club, an organization whose mission it is to create opportunities and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
In addition to representing the Great State of Texas in the 2013 MISS USA® pageant, Miss Nugent wins a prize package valued at approximately $100,000 and includes scholarships, travel, clothing, jewelry and much more. Hosting the show were Miss USA 2008, Crystle Stewart, and international model, Max Sebrechts.
Miss Plano, Jordan Schulz, was named first runner-up. Miss Lake Austin, Amber Calderon; Miss Southwest Texas, Barbara Falcon; and Miss North Laredo, Lauren Guzman; were selected as second through fourth runners-up, respectively.
The other contestants named to the top sixteen earlier in Sunday’s competition were Miss Central Texas, Megan McAnelly; Miss Dallas, Christina Entsminger; Miss Dallas Co., Tahnae Tarkenton; Miss Frisco, Jordan Johnnsen; Miss Gulf Coast, Alexandria Nini; Miss Houston, Peyton Saverance; Miss Kemah Erin Kay; Miss Longview, Andrea Fox; Miss Midland, Felicia Bolton; Miss Rio Grande Valley, Alejandra Gonzalez; Miss Southeast Texas, Ashlea Gutierrez.
Miss South Central Texas, Alyssa Dunn won the title of “Miss Congeniality”. Jordan Schulz, Miss Plano, was chosen as the “Swimsuit Winner” and Amber Calderon, Miss Lake Austin was named as “Most Photogenic”.
The winner of the “People’s Choice Award” was, Molly Woehl, Miss Pantego. A total of $3,500 was raised by donating one dollar for each vote. All proceeds benefitted the Military Moms and Wives of Brazoria County, a non-profit organization that sends “care packages” to our American heroes deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
